Day 6: Moving on

Today I visited a new housing development at Nizanim, Israel where settlers are unpacking their belongings, and construction crews are hurriedly building new homes. There were lots of young people there to help the new arrivals. Most of the settlers here have been here a few days, as they had made arrangements to reserve the available homes weeks ago, and left on the deadline. The ones who are resisting will most likely end up in hotels until new homes are built. I asked a few people how they liked their new home, they responded with an "it's OK", and a shrug of the shoulders that showed they weren't impressed, but knew it could have been worse.
A few people asked me how people in California felt about the withdrawal. I told them that it was sad to see families forced to leave their homes, but that hopefully some good will come of it. One young man responded skeptically "I hope something good will come of it also, but I don't think so"
